Our children's festival of lights

Dear parents and visitors,

On a Saturday afternoon in November, our foreign language daycare center Kinderland Muldental celebrated its first children's festival of lights together with many children, parents and grandparents. A variety of different sources of light decorated the daycare center, creating a special atmosphere.

There were LED candles, lanterns and fairy lights. The lights took center stage both indoors and outdoors. The illuminated kindergarten area looked particularly enchanting in the twilight of the dark season.
There was plenty of fun to be had with games, craft activities, floristry sales and ceramics on the nursery grounds.
A live singer framed the musical entertainment in the afternoon and evening with her beautiful voice. She melted the hearts of the visitors with great songs.

There were lots of pleasant conversations and hearty laughter over coffee and cake. Our children had a lot to experience on this day. There was face painting with tattoos and a scratch wheel with lots of small and large prizes.
The main prize was a board game to explore the town of Limbach - Oberfrohna and a voucher for Chemnitz Zoo.
In the evening, roasters and sandwiches could be tasted. Our technical staff were actively involved in the barbecue.

English and German songs and poems were practiced with the children for the opening of the event. Of course, the ABC song in English was also included. Additional support came from the girls of the Rocka Girls dance group. Together with our children, they presented their dance to kick off the Festival of Lights.

The voluntary fire department from Kaufungen was also there and provided the children with hours of outdoor fun with their fire engine. They had a lot of fun with the playful "fire extinguishing". In addition, our children were able to immerse themselves in the exciting world of the fire department under the bright lights. This was particularly successful as the volunteer fire department provided the fire engine and took the children for a ride.

Our children's festival of lights was also actively supported by Mrs. Schlicke from Langenchursdorf. She brought along various ceramics for the children to paint. These are fired in her store so that the colors come out even more splendidly. The finished ceramics can later be collected from Ms. Schlicke in the store. We were also supported by Silvia Uhlig-Scholz's floristry shop Sunshine-Flowers with beautiful flower decorations.

Another highlight was the second-hand bazaar organized by the parents' council. A lot of well-used toys were donated, which could be purchased at our festival. All of the proceeds from the sale went to the children at the Kinderland Muldental foreign language daycare center. We would like to take this opportunity to thank all the representatives on the parents' council for their commitment and voluntary work.

At the end of the children's festival of lights, all the children were given a bright surprise that made their eyes sparkle.
Children's laughter and beaming faces were the result of this successful afternoon.

A huge thank you goes to all the parents and supporters who helped to make our festival so wonderful, shared it and made it unforgettable. We look forward to another Lichterkinderfest next year and to continuing our good cooperation with the local associations.

Best regards
